Winter festivities, although they maybe be different due to the pandemic they can still be festive and not impact the environment in a negative way.

6 Steps to reduce your Waste this holidays

1. Experiences
Ideas include outdoor adventures like snowshoeing or kayaking, dog walking, baked treats, home improvements or landscaping, music lessons, art lessons, plant cuttings, sharing favourite recipes, homemade gifts
2. Shop Local
Local businesses are open and may have alternative shopping experiences. They likely have gift cards available that can be redeemed at a later date. This site has a great list of local companies to ge you started.
3. Vintage and Reused
Treasures and great bargains might be antique or thrifts shop away. Check out local online reuse forums and let us know if we're missing a great resource.
4. Regift or Upcycle
You might just be able to shop around your home! Someone else may enjoy an item you rarely use or maybe something can be crafted for common items around your home. Here are some ideas to help you get started.
5. Quality Durable Items
Go for an item that will last and you can pool resources with friends and family to purchase a quality item that will last.
6. Donations
Give to a cause or charity in someone else's name. The Sunshine Coast has many not-for-profit and charitable organizations working to enhance our community that can use your support year round and especially during the holiday season.
